There is a beauty and peace that comes in the silence of the day. It is simple, pure and full of Joy. Do we realize Joy is from Jesus?
The chaos of life: the noise, distractions, laughter, and/or tears threaten to destroy that pure and simple joy that can fill every heart. It is a Joy that surpasses all understanding and allows the lowliest of low to be blessed with happiness and wonder. This joy is one that all hearts are created to receive and enjoy.
We buy a lie when we think we have to wait (for this or that) to be happy, content and filled with Joy.
It’s there, available to all. It’s a free gift that sometimes sits un-opened. The box is shaken at times, it may be carried around and the tape torn…and perhaps we take a peak.
But that joy can be scary. It requires a lot of us, doesn’t it? It requires us to die to this life, in order to be born into one of simplicity that leads to joy.
It’s so simple. It’s too simple for many.
To believe that a babe, wrapped in a manger – a Nazarene – a carpenter could come to save the world.
Yet, how perfect to see how common and simple that joy really is.
That Joy – wrapped in Jesus.
The babe, wrapped in a manger….
I dare you – go ahead and open the gift. It won’t be easy. At times, I promise- it may be downright hard and painful (at times).
But it’s simple, beautiful and full of grace and love!
Merry Christmas to your family from ours.
Enjoy your days with your children- bake, sing, make something – most of all build your relationships with them.
I am taking a break from this space. I’ll be on and off of facebook and twitter…but, mostly, I’ll be off. Sharing moments with my family in prayer and giggles. I hope you will join me!
