Our secular world tells us the Bible and Science do not mix – that the Bible does not have any scientific information in it, but my Henry Morris Study Bible shares God’s Word with me and goes deeper by providing historical and scientific context I have been searching for.

I grew up believing that the Bible was full of nice stories and the only one that was really true was the story about Jesus. Yet, as I became an adult, I began questioning the truth of the story of Jesus.  After all, if creation was just a story, Noah was just a story….and the rest, well, why was there a need to believe in Jesus?

Why?  That seems to be the root of the question in society today.  Why do we need to believe any ‘one’ thing when all things are relevant and true.

And that is where the deceiver has his hands today.  Roaming about and roaring like a lion, yet, he can do nothing without it being the Will of the Father.  Job shared his story with us.  Wrapped in Job’s story is not just a story of how the devil schemed and took.  But, how God controls and created – even Leviathan (Job 4:1).

Leviathan, the creature of old.  Resembling what we call today – a dinosaur.  The center of much debate – between evolutionists and those who believe in God’s word and the age of the earth as based in the Bible.

Earth’s Age

The Henry Morris Study Bible has an amazing appendix that provides great information regarding the age of the earth.  It goes deep and provides not just the timeline but the necessity of creation.  The truth of creation is found in scientific data that scientists use – today!  The First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics share the truth with us.  They are described in great (and easy to understand) details.

Genesis

The first book in the Bible.  While it wasn’t the first book written, it lays the foundation and provides us with the history of how the earth was created.  Henry Morris explains the authorship, the truth account of origins, the Chronological framework of Earth History, various attempts to reconcile Biblical and evolutionary frameworks, fallacies in accepting evolutionary ages as real history, the flood theory of geology, and the creative formative works of God and an outline of World History according to Peter.

You could spend an entire year in this one section, uncovering the truth and beauty of our world’s history with your family.

Henry Morris does not stop there, though.  He goes on to provide in depth information that will make you shake your head and realize the beauty of God’s omnipotence in creation.

The Bible as the First Study Text

This Bible has truly been a blessing in our home.  It will probably be worn out by the time my children leave.  We are using it to check historical and scientific information that we read.  Yes – we use the Bible to glean the truth of man’s information from today.  We do not reverse that.  The Bible is first in our home and we pray it is in yours, as well.
