I am spoiled. Many days, I do not realize just how blessed I am and therefore do not always fully comprehend the blessing of one book I have in my home.
My Bible.
Yes, I read it. And now, I write it. But somedays, I don’t fully embrace it. I want to. I do. I desperately want to desire the words to pour over my mind and my heart every second of every day.
But, my sinful human heart doesn’t always ‘feel’ like it. It’s a good thing I have read the Word and know that my feelings may betray me, that out of the heart comes sin and my entire mind and heard need to be immersed in the word, praying and giving Thanks to the Father and living in the Freedom that truly comes from His love.
I am spoiled. And that can make me lazy.
I am spoiled to have not just one – but several Bibles. I have a Bible in several translations and I dare say I can enter any room in my home and not see a Bible lying around or sitting on a shelf or table.
Not every home in the world is like that. Some homes are not allowed to have a Bible due to laws forbidding a Bible.

A Bible is Not Available in Every Home
300,000,000 speaking 2,000 languages do not even have one verse of God’s Word written in their language (The Seed Company). I did not realize that so many people still do not have a Bible translated in their language. I knew some did, but I did not know that we still have so far to go to meet the Great Commission (Matt 28:19)- not only going out and sharing the good news, but providing a Bible that all can read and meditate on the beauty of God’s Word.
Get Involved
I was blessed to meet with the Seed Company at Allume in October. Through prayer and many discussions, my family and I are joining them through prayer and other opportunities to help – right in our home through prayer and sharing The Seed Company with others.
My children are getting involved by praying and writing the word and by playing this game MakaziVille that the Duggars shared with the world several months ago. They are also praying with me for the people in a distant corner of the world – the Project we have teamed up with The Seed Company to Pray for. And yes, they are also writing the word.
Now, it’s your turn. First, start with prayer. Pray that God will open your eyes and heart to the project He desires you to get involved with. Pray for the many without a Bible to receive one – in their own language. And please, begin in your own home – go pick up that Bible beckoning you. Read the truth – write it, pray over it and join us! (And you can also read this devotional that many amazing writers joined together to provide for you during this season of Lent)
Together, we can end Bible Poverty!

What’s this?!?! LOVE Seed Company, we’re praying for a section…but this game sounds amazing to really solidify the idea for the kids! Checking it out, thanks Rebecca!!!
This movement is new to me – (I’ve clicked on a few links in your post to check it out). I write out scripture verses every morning during my quiet time and have seen their value take share in our lives. Thank you for sharing…
Yes, writing out the Word, really adds a new dimension, doesn’t it? Thanks, Lori – I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it.
Rebecca this is a wonderful post. I’m so glad you shared this and spoke from your heart. It filled me with joy today. Thank you
Marissa, Thank you. I pray many will do the same!
